Market value doubled this season

Dynamo Dresden could make a big transfer increase with Kofi Amoako within twelve months. Last summer, the second division club paid 300,000 euros to VfL Wolfsburg and the midfielder’s good performances have recommended him for a return to the top flight. According to “Bild”, Union Berlin has the 20-year-old on the list.

Amoako was on the field for Dresden in 27 of 28 competitive games this season; he only had to miss the sixth matchday against Hannover 96 due to stomach flu. The U20 national player was in Dynamo’s starting line-up 24 times and his performances have played a major role in the fact that coach Thomas Stamm’s team has only lost two of the last ten games and is in fifth place in the second half of the season.

His market value jumped to 2 million euros in the last update in March; at the start of the season it was still at 900,000 euros after a loan to VfL Osnabrück. If Union Berlin wants to realize an obligation, at least a sum at market value level is likely to be due given the long-term contract. In Dynamo’s club history, only two player sales have brought such an amount into the coffers: Niklas Hauptmann cost 3.4 million euros when he moved to 1. FC Köln in 2018, and Marvin Stefaniak went to VfL Wolfsburg for 2 million euros in 2017.

At Union Berlin there could be a change in the central midfield. Captain Rani Khedira’s contract is expiring, Aljoscha Kemlein could attract interest from larger clubs after a strong season. The squad also includes András Schäfer (26), Janik Haberer (31; both contract until 2027), who is often used on the right side, and Alex Král (27; until 2026), who has no future at the club.
