Dorigo and Rösle new German ones Downhill champion

The women’s and men’s descents were already on the program on Thursday. In the absence of Kira Weidle-Winkelmann and Emma Aicher, Fabiana Dorigo (TSV 1860 Munich) raced to victory. The second best German in the international field was 21-year-old Emily Wörle (+0.91 seconds) from SC Bad Tölz in third place ahead of 19-year-old Antonia Reischl (+1.17 seconds/SC Partenkirchen), who came ninth overall.

Among the men, the Swiss Eric Wyler was the fastest starter. The new German champion, on the other hand, is Felix Rösle from SC Sonthofen (+0.03 seconds), who became junior world champion in the discipline last year. Behind the 21-year-old was Romed Baumann, who actually retired (+0.09 seconds/WSV Kiefersfelden), ahead of Super-G junior world champion Benno Brandis (+0.13 seconds/TSV Durach). Simon Jocher (SC Garmisch), somewhat surprisingly, came seventh on the day, 0.75 seconds behind Wyler.

Super-G cancelled

The German Women’s Super-G Championship, which was scheduled for Friday at 11 a.m., was canceled due to the weather conditions in the Axamer Lizum. Kira Weidle-Winkelmann (SC Starnberg) and Lena Dürr (SV Germering), among others, should have started there.

Hilzinger new Giant slalom champion

Jessica Hilzinger (SC Oberstdorf) is the new German champion in the giant slalom. In the decisive race, the 28-year-old came second on the day, 0.35 seconds behind the Austrian Leonie Raich. Lena Dürr (SV Germering) started the second round in third place, but was eliminated after a driving error.

Surprise at DM giant slalom of men

There was also a surprise winner in the men’s giant slalom. After Fabian Gratz (TSV Altenau) dropped out in the first round, Anton Grammel (TV Kressbronn) was no longer able to attack in the second run and ultimately came fourth. Jonas Stockinger (SC Herzogsreut), like Gratz and Grammel with World Cup experience, lost his lead in the final and only came second. The new German champion, however, is 23-year-old Hannes Amman (RG Burig Mindelheim).
