Russian ice dancer Viktoria Sinitsina was hospitalized as a result of an accident during competitions.

Nikita Katsalapov’s skate from the blue pair hit the woman’s leg, which started to bleed profusely. The two-time Olympic medalist has shared a video on his Instagram account in which Katsalapov carries him off the ice.

The video is not suitable for sensitive viewers. It shows that Sinitsina’s leg and white suit are covered in blood, and blood is flowing along the ice as Katsalapov carries his partner from the arena.

Sinitsina survived the accident with four stitches.

– Everything is really good! It looks much worse in the video because there is a lot of blood. The wound is only deep, Sinitsina writes in the accompanying text of the video.

The skater adds that worse could have happened in the situation.

– I think this is a sign that it’s time to slow down and rest, he reflects in the text.

Sinitsina won silver in ice dance and bronze in the team competition at the 2022 Beijing Olympics. He is the 2021 ice dance world champion and the 2019 World Cup silver medalist, as well as a two-time European champion from 2020 and 2022.
