After reaching the European Cup Final Four, Synatincs MBC also clinched their next victory in the Bundesliga – and thus gained further breathing room in the relegation battle. The Niners Chemnitz, on the other hand, secured their play-in place
Syntainics MBC, which is in danger of relegation, has confirmed its rising form and collected more points in the basement of the Basketball Bundesliga (BBL). In front of their home crowd in Weißenfels, head coach Milenko Bogicevic’s team defeated Rasta Vechta 90:82 (47:37) and thus achieved their third win in a row.
MBC climbs in the table
The team moved past Veolia Towers Hamburg to 15th place in the table. American Spencer Reaves (19 points) for Weißenfels and Vechta’s Tevin Brown (18 points) were the most accurate players in Vechta’s first defeat since the international break.
The Lower Saxony team had recently won four times and could therefore have legitimate hopes for the Playins. However, due to the setback at MBC, Vechta (22:30 points) slipped to eleventh place in the table, while the Niners Chemnitz (24:26) have the first place in the play-in with tenth place.
Niners claim playin spot
The Niners won 95:85 against EWE Baskets Oldenburg on Saturday evening. With the exception of a short phase of weakness in the last quarter, Chemnitz impressed. Chris Clemons (25 points) and Amadou Sow (24) were the top scorers. Oldenburg (22:30 points, eleventh place) is also aiming for the Playins in the final spurt of the season.
