Over 60,000 spectators flock to Anfield for the Liverpool Foundation’s charity game. In addition to the donations for a good cause, there is also an emotional moment.

Ex-Bayern professional Thiago burst into tears on the pitch during the charity game between Liverpool FC and Borussia Dortmund (2:2). The emotional moment came in the 20th minute of the game. The entire stadium contributed to a special moment in memory of the late Diogo Jota, who always wore the number 20. Referee Jarred Billett interrupted the game, the fans applauded and sang the song that had been written especially for Jota.

In addition to the sad moment, there were also many beautiful moments in the legends game. For example, Jürgen Klopp’s return to Anfield. Together with Sir Kenny Dalglish, he formed the coaching team that led the Reds to a 2-2 draw against his former club, BVB.

Thiago (6th) and Jay Spearing (38th) scored for Liverpool, before Dortmund equalized a game in which the result was secondary anyway through Mohamed Zidan (63rd) and Jan Koller (81st).

Proceeds from the game will benefit the Liverpool Foundation’s employment program. She works to ensure that people from the city find work. To this end, it runs qualifications, mentoring programs and training courses to support people.
