HPK’s star striker Cameron Wright did not agree with his teammate’s dismissal.

Cameron Wright is known as a player who gets hurt and has a lot going on. Mika Kylmäniemi, AOP

HPK’s Canadian Gold Helmet Cameron Wright wondered his compatriot Garrett Pyken hair-raising drive-out.

– I think it might not have been the right verdict, but the judges have the last word.

Pyke hit Tappara with his club Eetu Tuulolaa in the face in a fighting situation. However, Tuulola was not injured by the hit.

“My view is that Pyke just fell on top of him, so five minutes of that is quite a lot in a tight game like this.” I hope Pyke doesn’t get banned for that.

– But we know that if you get hit in the face with a bat, it can get you out, Wright said.

Known as a hot-blooded player, Wright, as usual, played with a lot of emotion in the opening game of the quarterfinals.

In the opening set, he attracted attention when, after the ice-ice verdict he received, he gestured to the judges several times with a hand movement reminiscent of filming.

– I just waved to greet the judge, Wright grinned.

According to Wright, HPK was not at its best in the opening match of the series, although it fought for the win until the last seconds. Tappara won with a score of 2–1.

– We were perhaps a bit in a hurry after the Lukko series. Tappara was a bit more ready and hungrier.

– We know that defense is their weakness. When we get the pucks out of their back and our feet moving, we’ll start to get into the same pace as we did against Lukko, Wright predicted.
