Women’s Bundesliga
Title almost perfect: Bayern strive to win against outsiders

The women of FC Bayern take a big step towards the championship against 1. FC Nürnberg. Coach Barcala’s focus is likely to lie elsewhere.
Dress rehearsal was a success and the German championship was almost perfect: FC Bayern’s women won the derby against Nuremberg 2-0 thanks to goals from Edna Imade (46th minute) and Natalia Padilla-Bidas (79th). The most important thing for Bayern coach José Barcala is that no players are injured before the second leg of the Champions League quarter-final against Manchester United next Wednesday (from 6:45 p.m. in the live ticker on t-online).
The Spanish coach changed to seven positions before the game, and that was evident in the game. The Munich team struggled to create chances, Nuremberg defended well. Therefore, the Bayern women were particularly dangerous through set pieces.
In the Bundesliga, the Munich team can hardly take away their fourth title after their success. Five game days before the end of the season, the team is 14 points ahead of VfL Wolfsburg, who can reduce the gap on Sunday.
90th minute – She actually doesn’t leave it lying around. Pernille Harder doesn’t hit the ball correctly from five meters and misses a great chance to make it 3-0.
88th minute – Almost the third goal and with an identical sequence to the 2-0. Imade breaks through on the right and brings the ball into the middle, but Padilla-Bidas is denied by goalkeeper Romero from a few meters.
80th minute – On the other hand, the connection almost falls through. Bayern goalkeeper Grohs again invites the Nuremberg offensive with an unfocused pass – but then parries well from a few meters.
79th minute – This should be the preliminary decision. Imade has plenty of space on the right and serves Padilla-Bidas with her cross on the other side. The 23-year-old remains ice cold in front of the goal – 2-0.
77th minutes – The game plods along without any significant action. Nuremberg is only concerned about not conceding another goal. The Munich women have enormous problems combining dangerously in front of the goal.
73rd minute – Bayern coach Barcala brings Bundesliga top scorer Pernille Harder (14 goals). Will Bavaria, poor in ideas, now make the preliminary decision?
62nd minute – Again aluminum bad luck for FC Bayern. After a free kick from the half field, it’s Viggosdottir again who hits the crossbar with a header.
57th minute – However, the leadership did not give the Bayern women any additional self-confidence. Bayern remain dominant in the game and continue to act too imprecisely going forward. Nuremberg are still well staggered, but they can no longer mount the counterattacks from the first half.
46th minute – Of course the Bayern women take the lead after a corner. Viggosdottir first heads the crossbar, Imade’s head is there from a few meters and he dusts it off. But the Bayern striker gets the foot of a Nuremberg woman in the head. The 25-year-old stays down for a moment and can then continue playing – 1-0 for FC Bayern.
