Students surrounded by fast food: one in three schools has at least ten unhealthy eating places within walking distance

Secondary schools in Flanders are increasingly surrounded by fast food outlets, takeaway restaurants and other providers of unhealthy food. This was evident from new figures on Saturday from the health institute Sciensano, which was requested by ‘De Tijd’. This trend is also visible in Wallonia and Brussels, reports sister newspaper ‘L’Echo’.
