The two are known not only as top models in motorsport, but also as drivers. Lee has more than 300,000 followers and Walton has more than 180,000 followers on Instagram.
The two were supposed to participate in this week’s Score World Desert Championship offroad race in Mexico. They were testing their car on the terrain of San Diego when suddenly the gas tank caught fire.
Lee’s husband Eric shared Video on Instagramwhere he told what happened next. The flames blazed directly onto Lee. At the same time, his seat belt was stuck.
– He was in the middle of the flames, and Kylie had to reach to open the seat belts, Eric said with tears in his eyes.
Without Walton’s quick action, Lee would likely have died in the car.
– Kylie played Janey’s life, Eric said.
He shared a picture of a couple harness taken at the hospital. Both hands were covered in bandages.
– Kylie’s hands burned. Janey’s gloves saved both her hands and her face. However, Janey has extensive burns on her legs that require multiple operations.
A small operation will also be performed on Walton’s hands, Eric estimates.
At the same time, Lee’s spouse thanked fans and followers for the congratulatory messages the duo received.
