Only five units destined for Europe and an uncompromising technical equipment, with a carbon braking system and MotoGP solutions. Every detail is designed to replicate the sensations of the track, but the price of 115 thousand euros plus VAT makes it a privilege for a few
Taking advantage of the showcase offered by the GP of the Americas (third round of the MotoGP world championship), a choice that was anything but random, Aprilia presented its latest masterpiece in a very limited series in Austin, an uncompromising racing car that continues the tradition of its hyper-technological X series. It’s called Aprilia X 250TH and, as underlined by the name, it also represents the Noale company’s homage to the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence of the United States of America, a tribute based on the Rsv4 1100 Factory which is already evident from the bright livery Stars and Stripes stars and stripes. A missile for a few, as also confirmed by Massimo Rivola, CEO of Aprilia Racing. “Once again Aprilia Racing offers an exclusive product, which is increasingly closer to MotoGP. The Aprilia X 250TH is clearly an object for true connoisseurs, something that has no equal. Over the years, the price? 150 thousand dollars for the USA, 115 thousand euros excluding VAT for the 5 units available to European customers.
1 Design
—
The design of the X 250TH is heavily inspired by the MotoGP RS-GP prototype. The evolved aerodynamics in fact, it represents one of the pillars of this project and takes the form of a series of elaborate appendages, starting from the generous front wing and reaching the seat wings of the latest generation, to the unreleased tail wings and to the most familiar under wing And cornering wings. All this translates into a significant increase in aerodynamic load both in a straight line and in bends, with consequent benefits in terms of stability and grip. By way of comparison, compared to the ‘normal’ Aprilia Rsv4, the vertical load in a straight line increases fivefold, increasing stability and reducing wheelie, while when leaning it triples, favoring grip when cornering. There fairing and the carbon saddle support were created by the Pan Compositi specialists using the same processes used for MotoGP and the shapes of the rear, in particular, faithfully replicate the flows of the racing prototypes.
2 Motor
—
Under the colorful fairings of the And the numbers, in this case, speak clearly: 240 HP of power at 13,750 rpm and 131 Nm of maximum torque at 11,750 rpm, with maximum speed at 14,100 rpm. An engine now refined in every detail, from the increased compression ratio to the air filter racing with high permeability of Sprint Filter, passing through the dedicated trumpets and the double-pipe titanium exhaust designed by the Italian Sc-Project. To complete the package, the STM dry clutch, another element that promises the sensations of a real racing bike.
3 Cycling
—
The chassis is obviously capable of such power and is structured around a sophisticated double-spar aluminum frame combined with fully adjustable Öhlins mechanical suspensions, more precisely a pressurized Fkr fork and a very high performance Ttx mono. Marchesini’s forged magnesium rims are paired with tyres slick Pirelli Diablo Sbk, practically synonymous with maximum grip. In any case, the real cycling jewel of the X 250th is thebraking system carbon-carbon by Brembo, the same used in MotoGP. It uses two 340 mm carbon front discs bitten by carbon pads and billet aluminum calipers with cooling fins, drastically reducing weight compared to traditional solutions and ensuring constant performance even in the most extreme conditions. The use of such high-quality components obviously makes itself felt on the scales, with Aprilia declaring this 165kg of dry weight.
4 Equipment
—
The equipment of the Aprilia X 250th is almost motorcycle-like factory. The management electronics is entrusted to the Aprilia Racing Apx control unit, a direct evolution of the systems used in the Superbike world championship which brought two world titles to the icon Max Biaggi. A sophisticated brain that allows you to fine-tune traction control, anti-wheelie control, engine braking and power management for each individual gear, all supported by a refined integrated GPS system. A real one is also supplied kit from the track which includes a laptops dedicated for the management of the ECU parameters, stands paddock in titanium and tyrewarmers, as well as a personalized mat and motorcycle cover.
5 Stirpe Racing
—
The new Aprilia X 250th constitutes the sixth chapter of the series X seriesan exclusive family of products born in 2019 with the Rsv4 A path that has led the Venetian company to create a true “parallel line” of racing motorcycles for customers. “The Aprilia X 250TH is another great creation by Aprilia Racing – explained the technical director Fabiano Sterlacchini – as in previous editions, we have taken care of many of the aspects that distinguish us, starting from very sophisticated aerodynamics that recall the concepts of MotoGP, up to the numerous evolutions on the engine, with an increase in power compared to previous versions. The real peculiarity of this project, however, is the cutting-edge braking system: the carbon discs allow extreme braking without putting the braking system in difficulty. It is a technology derived from MotoGP, also used in part in Formula 1, and represents an absolute novelty that will allow braking performances never seen before for a motorcycle on sale to the public.”
