The fire started while baking pancakes, the Safety Region reports. It is still unclear what exactly happened to the gas bottle. As far as we know, the bottle did not explode, according to the Safety Region. An air ambulance was deployed for a victim.

Five people were injured. One of them is a teacher who was seriously injured. The others suffered minor injuries. All injured people suffered minor or serious burns. It is not clear who the other four injured people are. Nor is it known whether there are children among the injured.

Victim assistance will be provided for those involved. Local residents who witnessed it can also make use of this.

The victims were treated on site by cooling them, the Safety Region reports. The fire brigade responded with several vehicles, including two tankers. An air ambulance has also been deployed. The fire brigade has had the fire under control since half past twelve.

Around a quarter to two, the severely shocked students returned to school in small groups, accompanied by a teacher. The practical school has approximately 160 students. The impact is so great that students are allowed to go home.
