Linda de Mol’s family heads a journalistic media empire, but she walks away when an independent press dares to ask a critical question. “Certainly not conducive to the atmosphere.”
It is more wrong than wrong that Linda de Mol did not intervene adequately when two victims of Ali B reported to her. She was able to whisper to her brother John de Mol, then producer of The Voice, that the rapper was not pure coffee, but failed to do so. She withdrew her hands and referred the victims to the next counter.
Linda remains silent
Women support women? Apparently only if it can be used nicely for the cover of her magazine. Critics like Welmoed Sijtsma think that Linda could have prevented a lot of suffering, but the fallen TV queen herself? He refuses to be held accountable. “I’ll do that later,” she said more or less in front of the Boulevard camera last February.
Well, apparently if Easter and Pentecost fall on the same day, because Linda is keeping tight-lipped. Not surprising, because that woman knows she is wrong and that everything would sound like a cheap excuse. Her family may be at the head of a media empire, but Linda herself clearly has no interest in journalism and free media.
PR moment
Nowadays, Linda only stands in front of the camera when she has a PR moment. Yesterday she had the presentation of a kind of baby version of her magazine and it all looked very clumsy; Linda read her funny announcement from a piece of paper — amateurishly. And then she stood dutifully for a while RTL Boulevard to speak.
A reporter from RTL Boulevard naturally asks Linda what she thinks of the current trial against Ali B – after all, she would come back to it – but as soon as the promo conversation threatens to become a critical conversation, the Talpa diva immediately backs away. She walks away. What a weakness. What an embarrassing display.
Don’t feel like it
Presenter Luuk Ikink explains to the desk that their editors could not ignore this. “We also asked her very quickly: ‘By the way, can we ask you another question about Ali’, because that matter is of course important now, but she absolutely did not feel like doing that. Then she flashed away.”
We then see the fragment in which Linda runs away hysterically. “Look, there she goes. That was over so quickly. She definitely doesn’t feel like it yet. It also doesn’t improve the atmosphere very much.”
Just to be sure
TV expert Rob Goossens points out that RTL Boulevard has already had itself censored by La Linda in advance. “To be fair, we also have to admit: they had said in advance: ‘Only questions about this.’”
Luuk: “Certainly, but we tried it just to be sure.”
Rob: “Let’s see if the ravine was actually where they said it was.”
Luuk: “And it was.”
Tip for Boulevard: if Linda does not want to answer critical questions, throw her PR moment into the ravine as well.
