National coach Gennaro Gattuso’s team has a tough opponent in Northern Ireland. But a violent shot puts the favorite on the way.
Pure ecstasy in Bergamo – but the trembling is far from over: Italy averted the entire World Cup qualifying debacle and reached the final of the playoffs for participation in the finals. The “Squadra Azzurra” won 2-0 (0-0) against Northern Ireland in the semi-finals on Thursday evening and will now face the winner of the game between Wales and Bosnia-Herzegovina in the final on Tuesday.
Sandro Tonali (56th) and Moise Kean (80th) scored in the Gewiss Stadium in Bergamo against Northern Irishmen who were completely harmless for long stretches.
