Our National Team hosted Romania in the play-off semi-finals of the FIFA 2026 World Cup European Qualifications. Our Children won the match 1-0 with a goal from Ferdi Kadıoğlu. Speaking at the press conference after the match, Coach Vincenzo Montella reacted to the resignation question posed to him by the Romanian press.
Montella asked him: “Will you resign if you cannot go to the World Cup?” He gave the following answer to the journalist who asked the question…
“I WILL NOT COME TO PROVOCATIONS”
“Do you resign immediately when you make a mistake while writing a news story? I will not engage in such provocations. I do not think that our two-year beautiful relationship will end with one match. Our goal is to win the next match. There is no need to say anything more.”
