National coach Julian Nagelsmann cannot rely on substitute goalkeeper Jonas Urbig for the World Cup tests against Switzerland and Ghana due to injury. But FC Bayern doesn’t seem to have to worry too much about their goalkeeper. On Thursday evening, the Munich team announced that Urbig had suffered a capsule injury in his right knee joint while playing for the DFB team. Finn Dahmen (27) has been nominated to replace the 22-year-old, as FC Augsburg confirmed in the evening.
Whether and for how long Urbig might not be available to the record champions was not heard from Munich. However, Nagelsmann has already given the all-clear. According to “Sky”, he called Urbig’s departure a “precautionary measure”, it was “nothing bad, he could have continued training here with us – but I didn’t want to chase him through. That’s good for him, that’s good for us, that’s not good for Bayern,” the national coach is quoted as saying.
