Rosalía canceled her concert in Milan after two of four stages. Food poisoning stopped the “LUX” tour – what that means for the upcoming shows.

Rosalía had to cancel her show in Milan. The Spanish singer has been on her “LUX” tour for around ten days. The tour started on March 16th in Lyon. Her concert was scheduled to take place in Milan on March 25th at the Forum di Assago – the only one in Italy – before moving on to Madrid and performing there on March 30th.

Aborted after two of four stages

Rosalía started the show as usual and had already completed two of the planned four stages of the concert. She had already sung several new songs before she was forced to stop. During her performance of the song “De Madruga,” the singer showed difficulty singing and coughed audibly. She then left the stage.

The artist’s discomfort was clearly visible. She held her stomach and looked visibly shaken as she apologized to her audience: “I was sick, I threw up, I had something like food poisoning. I tried to make it to the end but I’m really miserable. I wanted to give you the best experience possible, something like this has never happened to me before. I tried to carry on with the show but my body really can’t handle it, I can’t continue, I’ve done everything I could.”

She then left the stage for the evening. She assured her Spanish fans that she would seek medical advice before the next concerts in Madrid. It is currently unclear whether the performance in Milan will be rescheduled – after all, the fans only saw half a show there.

Divided reactions in the audience

Some fans are upset that the concert wasn’t completely canceled or postponed. “Let’s see who traveled the furthest only to be disappointed? My boyfriend and I flew in from Dublin just for this. We met a guy in the queue who was here from California!!,” one person commented.

However, the majority are understanding. “You could tell she was struggling; something wasn’t right from the start. Plus, the event started almost an hour late. I wonder if it wouldn’t have been better for her to cancel the whole thing. But I’m glad she’s listening to her body. That takes courage these days.”

“What she did tonight was really impressive – you wouldn’t have noticed that she wasn’t feeling well at all. Her voice was absolutely perfect. I just hope she gets well soon and that she can offer an alternative date or refund to those who can’t come on the new date.”

She still has a long journey ahead of her

It is not yet clear whether the concert will be repeated. Rosalía still has a long tour ahead of her: she will continue to tour Europe until the beginning of May – on April 29th in Cologne and on May 1st in Berlin. Then it goes to North America and then Latin America; She will be on tour until September. It remains to be seen whether a replacement show can be planned for Milan.
