Western countries refuse to recognize the slave trade as ‘the most serious crime against humanity’

The UN General Assembly has declared the African slave trade the ‘most serious crime against humanity’. The resolution, introduced by Ghana on Wednesday, was adopted with 123 votes in favor to loud applause. But many Western countries abstained or voted against, including the United States and Israel.
