The explosion happened around 5am. Around the same time there was also a burglary at a cash deposit machine on Slotermeerlaan. A police spokesperson told AT5 that the control room received several reports from local residents in Nieuw-West who had heard several bangs.
No one has been arrested for the explosion. The police are investigating and are looking for witnesses and people who may have images of the explosion or perpetrator(s). No one was injured.
