The installation in Ostend is 2,300 square meters, good for 614 solar panels. On sunny days, production in Ostend is large enough to charge five electric vans every hour from 0 to 100%. The charging capacity of the distribution center was also expanded to no fewer than 83 charging stations for postal workers’ vehicles.
Eight additional installations, three of which are in West Flanders
Bpost wants to provide eight new solar panel parks in the next nine months. These will be placed at the distribution centers in Ypres, Knokke and Tielt, among others. In this way, Bpost expects to be able to install more than 12,000 square meters of additional solar panels, good for an additional CO2 saving of 509 tons per year.
