Special forces in the first episodes of the fifth production season, many injuries are already seen.
Examples of these include the content producer Janne Nevalainen brutal injury when he fell face first from the helicopter into the water.

Speaker and performer Tomi Långstedt on the other hand, hurt his hand at camp and couldn’t even straighten his fingers properly. In February, Långstedt told Iltalehti at the program’s press conference that his ribs were also broken and he even had to go to the “leker’s table”.
– My ribs were tender for a long time, throughout the summer and autumn. My wrist started to be in good shape near the beginning of winter, he said about his recovery time.
Content producer Pinja Sanaksenaho on the other hand, he jumped in a bad-looking way on a sharp rock with his backside in front of him with motivation. Sanaksenaho screamed in pain, and the program’s doctor had to carry her off the motivation platform Antti Oksanen to be investigated. However, soon Sanaksenaho was allowed to continue the task, and the severity of the injury remained a mystery.
Iltalehti knows that there will also be more injuries during the production season.

The production and the doctor commented
Executive producer of the program Alex Laszlo commented to Iltalehti that, of course, they try to avoid injuries during filming. Unfortunately, however, they have happened in every production season.
– Safety arrangements have been an important part of production since the beginning and they have not changed, says Laszlo.
– Safety and evacuation plans are made for the tasks, in which all possible scenarios are reviewed, but even these do not eliminate the possibility of injury one hundred percent. This is something that is discussed with all participants and they are aware of what program they are participating in, he adds.

On the other hand, the program’s doctor Oksanen states that fortunately there have been very few serious injuries in each season. According to Oksanen, there are three important elements in injury prevention.
– First of all, the participants in the program go through very comprehensive health checks and tests performed by a general practitioner and a cardiologist. All more serious chronic diseases prevent participation in the program. Likewise, a psychologist also evaluates the participants. The participants in the program are therefore healthy and basically able to cope with the tasks they face in the program, says Oksanen.
Another point Oksanen raises is that the tasks performed in the program are carefully planned and tested before filming.
– Tasks are being planned by the production company, the trainers and myself, in addition to the safety team, which has extensive experience in risk management in challenging productions both at home and abroad. In addition, the safety team has the necessary official qualifications for, among other things, working at heights and working with ropes, he lists.

According to Oksanen, the third entity is that during filming, accidents are prepared for, as needed, with, for example, surface rescuers, rescue divers and other first aid personnel.
– In the fifth season, there were at least two doctors and four paramedics constantly accompanying the contestants. However, the nature of the program is such that when you spend almost two weeks exercising, playing sports and performing various tasks from morning to night – inevitably, you cannot avoid all accidents.
As a doctor, Oksanen cannot comment on the injuries of the experimenters more than what has been seen in the program. In his opinion, there have been no more injuries in the program than in previous seasons.
– If the first and now the most recent seasons are compared to each other, suspensions due to stress injuries have decreased thanks to, among other things, the selection of participants, he concludes.
The Special Forces program can be watched on Tuesdays on Ruudu and Nelose at 9 p.m. See all TV programs and broadcast times in Telku’s TV guide.
