Anyone who doesn’t take football too seriously might be happy about this offer. On RTL, two experienced TV entertainers add their two cents to the first World Cup test match.
For the start of the German national team’s World Cup year, RTL is offering fans a special option. The TV entertainers Stefan Raab and Michael Bully Herbig will comment on the DFB team’s first World Cup test match this Friday (from 8:45 p.m. in the live ticker on t-online) in Basel against Switzerland in a free event live stream. The duel can be seen on RTL+ and the RTL Sport YouTube channel.
According to the RTL press release, the two TV stars want to give “their very own perspective on the game and the performance of the DFB team” “live, unfiltered and guaranteed entertaining”. This is nothing new for the duo. 23 years ago, Raab and Herbig commented together on the Bundesliga classic between FC Bayern and Borussia Dortmund.
On the main channel, Wolff-Christoph Fuss provides commentary on the game in St. Jakob Park. Record national player Lothar Matthäus and former Dortmund coach Edin Terzić are planned as experts. Laura Wontorra moderates the football evening.
RTL will also show the national team’s last World Cup test match against the USA on June 6th. After the World Cup, the channel will broadcast three preliminary round duels in the Nations League: the classic in the Netherlands (September 24th) and the away games in Greece (October 4th) and Serbia (November 13th).
