Real star was injured for weeks
Curious glitch in Mbappé investigation

Real Madrid had to do without injured superstar Kylian Mbappé for several weeks. Now it turns out that the Royal team probably made a mistake during their investigation.
Kylian Mbappé has had a difficult start to 2026 at Real Madrid. Knee problems repeatedly slowed the superstar down at the beginning of the year. Apparently this is also due to a faulty investigation.
“The Athletic” reports that Real Madrid’s medical department examined the Frenchman on the wrong leg in December last year. Accordingly, an MRI revealed no injury to Mbappé’s right knee. He was subsequently used in three games before the error was noticed. Mbappé suffered the problem in his left knee.
A further examination, this time of the correct leg, finally revealed a partial tear of the posterior cruciate ligament. The superstar took a short break in January before returning to the field for seven games. From mid-February, problems plagued him again, and in March Mbappé missed five Royal games.
In the Champions League, the 27-year-old celebrated a 20-minute comeback in the second leg against Manchester City and recently traveled to the French national team during the international break. The superstar will probably also be available for the quarter-final duel with FC Bayern. Real Madrid welcomes Munich for the first leg on April 7th (9 p.m., in the live ticker on t-online), with the second leg at FC Bayern eight days later.
