At the Trabzon 3rd Criminal Court of First Instance, the verdict hearing of the case in which Fenerbahçe football player Jayden Oosterwolde, who was tried without arrest, regarding the events that occurred after the Trabzonspor-Fenerbahçe match played in Trabzon on March 17, 2024, Bright Osayi Samuel and İrfan Can Eğribayat, who played in the same team at the time, and Trabzonspor fans H.Ç, RB and K.O, was held.


The court judge ruled that the complainant defendant, Bright Osayi Samuel, committed the crime of “deliberate injury” twice and imposed a judicial fine of 360 days in total.


The court reduced the penalty to a judicial fine of 300 days, imposed a total fine of 12 thousand liras, and postponed the announcement of the verdict.


Football players Jayden Quinn Oosterwolde and İrfan Can Eğribayat were each given a judicial fine of 120 days for “deliberate injury”.


The court, which increased the sentences of both football players to 180 days of judicial fines for carrying out the action in sports fields, reduced the defendants’ sentences to 150 days of judicial fines, considering their impact on their future, and decided to punish them with 6 thousand liras each and postpone the announcement of the verdict.


The court fined the defendant H.Ç. 4 thousand 480 liras for the crime of “intentional wounding” and imposed a judicial fine of 6 thousand liras each on KO and R.B. for the same crime.


The court decided to postpone the announcement of the verdict for the 3 defendants for this crime and banned these people from entering the sports fields.


The court also sentenced the defendants H.Ç, RB and KO to 3 months in prison for “entering the competition area, locker rooms, corridors of the rooms, and athlete exit tunnels without authorization”.


The judge reduced the prison sentences to 2 months and 15 days each, taking into account the effects on the future of the defendants, and decided to postpone the announcement of the sentence.


For football player Michy Batshuayi Tunga, for whom an arrest warrant was issued and whose defense could not be received, it was decided to separate the file and to continue the trial and arrest.
