It has been in the air for some time and now it is official: “I will quit at the end of 2026,” declared Nairo Quintana. The 36-year-old Colombian from Movistar said this on the eve of the Volta Catalunya, which starts tomorrow with Jonas Vingegaard as favourite. Among the 51 successes, the 2014 Giro d’Italia naturally stands out (the first Colombian ever to finish in the squad) and the 2016 Vuelta. But, despite never wearing the yellow jersey, Quintana was also a protagonist in the Tour with 3 podiums: second in 2013 and 2015, third in 2016.
