The allegations against Christian Ulmen continue to make waves – and are now catching up with the past. The starting point is a report from “Mirror”. Collien Fernandes has filed a criminal complaint against her ex-partner. There are allegations that go far beyond private conflicts and could reach criminal law dimensions.
The presenter describes the events as a massive invasion of her personality and speaks of “virtual rape”. According to the report, she supports her account with extensive evidence, including affidavits and digital traces.
Ulmen’s side rejects the account. There is talk of one-sided reporting and false facts about his lawyer.
Podcast excerpt causes discomfort
Against this backdrop, a podcast from 2018 takes on a new impact. In it, Ulmen reports how, as a teenager, he used telephone platforms with friends, posed as women and communicated with men.
What is told as a humorous memory now takes on a different color. Ulmen describes that this also resulted in paid conversations. What was important was not how convincing the presentation was, but rather that the caller’s imagination worked.
This passage in particular is causing discomfort because it is partly reminiscent of the current allegations – even if the two cannot be equated.
Lots of open points
The investigation is ongoing, but no concrete results are available yet. Christian Ulmen has not commented publicly, Collien Fernandes is currently abroad.
One thing is certain: the case is no longer just a private matter. And the focus is increasingly on what happened a long time ago. The presumption of innocence still applies to Elmen.
