“All that matters, darling, is that someone sees more in you than you knew there was to see.” This sentence, from the novel ‘A beautiful lack’ (2003) by Arthur Japin, has been voted the most beautiful love sentence in the Netherlands. The sentence was chosen via a poll by the Stichting Collectieve Propaganda of the Dutch Book in the run-up to the Boekenweek. It starts on Saturday and has the theme ‘First love’.
