VfB transfer in summer
VfB Stuttgart have made the commitment of 18-year-old Japanese Anrie Chase perfect. From the 2022/23 season, the central defender with US roots has a long-term contract with the Bundesliga club with an unspecified term, in which the previous trial player will initially be required in the second team.
“Anrie was in training with us for 14 days and was able to convince us,” explained Stuttgart’s NLZ director Thomas Krücken. “He’s a robust, tough tackle defender who has strengths in one-on-ones. In addition to his physical requirements, he also has good speed and a good passing game. We are pleased that he has decided in favor of our concept and the path shown to develop further via the U21s.”
Chase, who was born in Japan but also has roots in the USA, most recently played for Shoshi High School in his home country. Although not signed to a professional club, Chase has been called up for the Japan Under-23 national team, where he was the only high school player.
The first newcomer for the new season has been announced. Anrie Chase has signed a contract effective July 1, 2022. The 18-year-old Japanese player has been playing for Shoshi High School in Japan and is a Japan U23 national team player. #youngandwild https://t.co/JSu2lHY5pg
