The municipality of Nederweert will almost certainly get a coalition of CDA, JAN and VVD.
Informer Anton Kirkels advised such a coalition. The three parties have announced in a joint response that they want to work energetically with the advice and that they want to start talks about a coalition agreement.

CDA, JAN and VVD together account for 12 of the 17 seats in the municipal council. According to informer Kirkels, most substantive agreements exist between the parties. Moreover, parties have indicated that there must be a certain balance between coalition and opposition and that the democratic process benefits from an opposition of size, according to the informateur. Hence his advice for a coalition of three parties.

Conversations
Kirkels has spoken with all six parties in the city council for the past two weeks. It became clear that the progressive list Nederweert Anders and newcomer GroenLinks saw nothing in joining a coalition with CDA and JAN (Youth Agreement Nederweert). VVD and D66 wanted that.
In the unlikely event that the intended coalition of CDA, JAN and VVD does not succeed, a combination of CDA, JAN and D66 is therefore an alternative option, according to the informateur. The city council of Nederweert will discuss Anton Kirkels’ advice on April 19.
New trainer
He did advise appointing a new formateur from the community of Nederweert itself, who is very familiar with the files and challenges faced by the municipal council. She or he can be used as a facilitator of the negotiations between the parties, according to Kirkels.
For the past four years, Nederweert has had a coalition of JAN, Nederweert Anders and D66. But it lost its majority in the elections. VVD member Anton Kirkels is a former councilor and former alderman of Weert and a former member of parliament.
