BADEN-BADEN (dpa-AFX) – The leasing specialist grenke earned slightly more in 2025 than in the previous year despite a persistently high number of payment defaults and insolvency cases among its customers. The loss ratio is likely to remain high in 2026, but the management around CEO Sebastian Hirsch expects even more profit. Grenke is therefore aiming for a consolidated result of 74 to 86 million euros, as the SDax company announced on Thursday in Baden-Baden. In the best case, that would be an increase of almost a fifth, in the worst case, around 3 percent.
Last year, the bottom line was that profit climbed by 2.3 percent to 71.8 million euros. Grenke thus came out at the lower end of its forecast of 71 to 81 million euros. For shareholders, the dividend will rise to 0.42 euros per share, after 0.40 euros a year earlier.
The strong growth in new leasing business in recent years has led to a strong increase in operating income, it said. At the same time, however, the loss ratio increased by 0.4 percentage points to 1.7 percent due to the large number of payment defaults. As has been known since the beginning of January, new leasing business was around 8 percent higher than the previous year at 3.3 billion euros. For 2026, Grenke is targeting an increase to 3.4 to 3.6 billion euros./tav/stk
