Fabio Jakobsen does not give his spring a ten, but a six | cycling

By Daniel Dwarswaard

Drowned by the rain showers and battered by the strong wind, Fabio Jakobsen rolls up the Markt van Schoten. He hates it. Often the happiest rider in the pack, now simply grumpy. He, one of the best sprinters in the world, is only fifteenth in the Scheldeprijs. Normally a predictable race, which invariably ends in a bunch sprint. But how different it is this time. So wind and rain. Jakobsen and his team Quick-Step miss the decisive ‘fan’ early in the game. Hours of repair work then yields nothing.
