Airbus’ helicopter division has signed a contract to supply Garuda Technologies with up to 18 Flexrotor unmanned aerial systems.
Garuda will offer Flexrotor services to its customers through both dry lease and wet lease options for infrastructure inspection, law enforcement, search, wildfire monitoring and disaster response, Airbus Helicopters announced.
The Flexrotor is a vertical takeoff and landing unmanned aerial system (VTOL) capable of operating from small areas of land and from ships without a flight deck. It’s ready to fly in less than half an hour. Garuda, a subsidiary of Indian drone startup Garuda Aerospace, is expanding into North America. Financial details of the contract were not disclosed.
The Aribus share was temporarily trading 1.19 percent lower at 175.74 euros via XETRA.
