There’s no question that Gil Ofarim has been on the rise since winning the Jungle King crown on this year’s season of “I’m a Celebrity – Get Me Out of Here!” a more sought-after person than before. Apparently fans of the rock bard also feel this. Ofarim now posted a warning on Instagram that his fans should heed. He warns against fake accounts – i.e. people who pretend to be themselves:
“Be careful of fake accounts! My official accounts are:
Instagram: gilofarim
Facebook: Gil Ofarim
Threads: gilofarim
I do not have private or secret accounts to chat with fans, nor do I contact followers via WhatsApp or other chat platforms.”
And further: “Some accounts pretend to be me, my management or team and offer the possibility of a private meeting or access to the backstage area at one of my concerts. These are fake accounts!”
Accordingly, there are many free riders who want to benefit from the controversial musician’s new fame.

Three days after his victory on “I’m a Celebrity – Get Me Out of Here!” Gil Ofarim made a surprisingly public statement about the scandal surrounding his false claim in 2021 in an interview with the broadcaster RTL in the magazine “Point 12”. But his late apology to the affected hotel employee Markus W. is once again causing discussions.

To the direct question from moderator Katja BurkardAs to whether he could apologize to Markus W., Ofarim said: “I did that, and I personally told him that in court. I have the feeling that a lot of people out there either don’t care about that at all or they want to hear it over and over again. I’ve already done it and done it. That was already in court. But I can only repeat myself: everything that happened there and everything afterwards: ‘I’m sorry!’ and I cannot and may not say anything else.”
Burkard summarized the statement as a long-overdue public apology. She replied: “Gil, but that’s what you said. Now you said very clearly: I’m sorry.”
Hotel employee reports
Markus W., the hotel employee whom Ofarim falsely accused of anti-Semitism, spoke out a few days ago. In an interview with “Zeit” W. said: “I’m not happy with the way he was able to present himself now. … I have the impression that the public perception of this case is changing again.”
He emphasized that Ofarim admitted the misrepresentation in court and apologized, but was now portraying himself as a victim again in the media: “He acts like a victim, even though I am.”

In 2021, Ofarim made headlines nationwide with an Instagram video. In it, he accused a hotel employee of discriminating against him in an anti-Semitic manner. However, the investigation revealed that the allegations were unfounded. In a later trial, Ofarim admitted that his account was false. The proceedings were discontinued against a monetary condition.
