The Swiss textile technology company Climatex wants to advance its international expansion and is investing in the next steps. The company has just completed a financing round of 3.2 million Swiss francs (around 3.5 million euros) and at the same time appointed Camilla Skjønning Jørgensen as designated CEO.

The lead investor in the financing round is the Collateral Good Textile & Fashion Innovation Fund, and existing investors also participated again. “We are pleased to support Climatex as it enters its next phase of growth,” explains Michael Kleindl, founding partner at Collateral Good. “The company’s patented circular textile technologies are unique in the world, strongly protected by an extensive patent family and ready for scale.” With the fresh capital, Climatex wants to expand its market position in the area of circular textile technologies and strengthen sales and marketing.

The company develops and licenses innovative technologies for recyclable textile constructions. The focus is on soluble construction threads that ensure stability during use, but enable controlled disassembly, material separation and high-quality material recovery at the end of life. The innovations include the “Weavelock”, “Stitchlock” and “Knitlock” technologies, which can be integrated into existing industrial production processes. Climatex recently filed two new patents for the last two technologies.

In parallel to the financing round, the company is expanding its leadership: Camilla Skjønning Jørgensen, as designated CEO, will take on the task of scaling the technologies in global markets. The manager has more than 20 years of experience in the textile and fashion industry, including in the areas of sustainability, innovation and business development along the entire value chain. Your focus will be on the international positioning of Climatex technologies in segments such as workwear, fashion and interior.

“For decades, innovation has focused on next-generation fibers. But very little attention has been paid to how products are made – and that determines whether they can be recycled in practice,” says Camilla Skjønning Jørgensen. “Climatex is disruptive in its effect, but not in its implementation. It integrates directly into current supply chains without requiring major investments.”

As part of the change in leadership, the previous co-CEOs Adrian Obrist and Patric Rupp are withdrawing from operational business, but will remain members of the board of directors. Climatex has not yet communicated an exact time for the leadership change.

With the financing and the change in management, Climatex wants to further scale its technology platform. The aim is to anchor circular textile constructions at the level of yarns and seams, so that products are designed for dismantling and high-quality recycling from the outset.
