Compared to Tuesday’s bitter defeat, Arne Slot made four changes to his starting eleven. Only Virgil van Dijk remains in defense. Jeremie Frimpong, Ibrahima Konaté and Milos Kerkez are on the bench for the time being. Curtis Jones, Joe Gomez and Andy Robertson start. In the offensive department, Rio Ngumoha replaces Hugo Ekitiké. Meanwhile, nothing has changed in the usual 4-3-3 system. The Wolves even made six changes. Sam Johnstone replaces José Sá between the posts. Matt Doherty, Ladislav Krejčí, David Møller Wolfe, André and Adam Armstrong are also missing. Yerson Mosquera, Toti, Hugo Bueno, Jean Bellegarde and Toluwalase Arokodare start for this. There are no changes to the formation of Rob Edwards’ team either, so the home side operate from a 3-5-2.

In their two appearances so far, Liverpool FC have certainly impressed. In round one for the LFC there was a clear 4-1 win against Barnsley FC, who are active in EFL League One, the third highest division in England. This was followed by a 3-0 win against Brighton and Hove Albion. In both cases, however, the Reds played at Anfield in front of their home crowd. Wolverhampton Wanderers also won their FA Cup opener 6-1 against Shrewsbury Town. In the second round, however, they had significantly more problems, so they only managed a 1-0 win at Grimsby Town.

However, the clocks have now been reset to zero in the FA Cup. Arne Slot’s team is likely to take their opponents even more seriously after Tuesday’s bitter defeat. Based on the last encounters, a close encounter can be expected again today. Before the defeat there were three wins for the Reds, all of which were decided by a one-goal difference.

It’s been less than 72 hours since Wolverhampton Wanderers and Liverpool FC faced each other in the Premier League. In a supposedly unequal duel in which the bottom of the table met the Champions League candidate, there was a huge surprise. Rob Edwards’ men surprisingly defeated the favorites Liverpool 2-1 at the Molineux Stadium. In stoppage time, André took advantage of Alisson Becker’s failed attempt to clear the ball and scored the decisive goal, making Wolves’ hearts beat faster.
