“The attacks are very close, the sound is deafening,” Mina, a 61-year-old engineer, told Tehran in a voice message earlier this week The New York Times. The force of an explosion had blown out the windows and doors in her home – just like in the other houses in her street. Mina: “Let’s hope we survive the night.”
Last Saturday, the US and Israel started bombing the Iranian capital, among others. Clouds of smoke have been clouding Tehran’s skyline for a week. The heaviest blows are yet to come, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio warned.
