Turkish Football Federation announced that there has been a change in the Turkish Cup system. The system, which continues with a group stage after the qualifying rounds, will be abolished as of next year. In the cup that will be played according to the elimination method; 5 qualifying rounds, last 16 rounds, quarter-finals, semi-finals and final matches will be played. Semi-final matches will be held according to double-match elimination method, and the other rounds will be held according to single-match elimination method.
In the statement made by TFF on the subject, “The Board of Directors of the Turkish Football Federation, at the meeting held on 04.03.2026, decided that the Turkish Cup will be played according to the elimination method starting from the 2026-2027 season. According to the decision; the Turkish Cup will consist of 5 qualifying rounds, the last 16 rounds, quarter-finals, semi-finals and final stages. The semi-final matches will be played according to the double-match elimination method, and the other rounds will be played according to the single-match elimination method. “The Turkish Cup qualifying rounds and final phase will be completed in a total of 10 cup weeks. The Turkish Cup dates will be announced later.”
