The British drama My furry friends continues with new episodes on Yle.
Even though the war is still present, the Kaikenkarvaiset styvänni series is as warm-hearted as ever. Over
British series My furry friends the sixth production season starts today at Yle. We are once again in the fictional village of Darrowby in the north of England.
There will be a confusing time jump. Whereas in the previous period we lived in the middle of the harshest years of the Second World War, now we are already waiting for the end of the war.
A lot has happened in four years – and everything is hidden from the viewers behind the scenes between production seasons. James and Helen have had another child as Jimmy has become little Rosie’s big brother. Housekeeper Mrs. Audrey Hall, on the other hand, has left the reception and moved to Sunderland. There, at the end of the fifth season, he has taken care of his son Edward, who was injured in the war, and then of his daughter Mary, whom Edward had with his wife Betty.
So weddings have also been danced. Siegfried just didn’t attend Edward and Betty’s birthday party despite being invited.

Although Siegfried doesn’t want to admit it, Skeldale’s veterinary clinic has descended into complete chaos in Mrs. Hall’s absence. Of course, other housekeepers have been hired, but they have left one after the other. What remains is a huge cleanup and a house full of free-ranging animals, such as Siegfried’s rat. By the way, Gerald the mustache is Volonel’s grandson. The dwarf horse Gladys is also in the living room, as is her mistress Susan, who wakes up from the sofa next to Siegfried after dancing.

Siegfried is only a shadow even more, which worries James in particular. Helen has vowed not to disturb Mrs. Hall, but in the end, a desperate James can’t help it. He is encouraged by Tristan, returning home from Italy, who remembers that his older brother was in such bad trouble only once before: after the death of his wife Evelyn. James and Tristan manage to lure Mrs. Hall back, albeit only temporarily.
Siegfried, who switched from tea to coffee in four years, bears a grudge against Mrs. Hall, which becomes very clear.
– It was a surprise, Siegfrid says about this departure.
The relationship between the man and Mrs. Hall is extremely tense, because Siegfrid is pushing and shoving her.
– He left us! Siegfrid tries to justify his bad behavior to James.
Siegfrid’s sudden message gets there quickly, and Mrs. Hall packs her bundle and her sweater. Helen Williams, General
Mrs. Hall is quick to draw her own conclusions. He ends his visit earlier than planned. There must be some limit to even Siegfried’s stubbornness. When the situation is resolved, Siegfrid comes to the end of the street. Mrs. Hall must not leave them again! And he won’t leave.

My furry friends based on books written under the name of James Herriot. Actually, James Herriot was the veterinarian James Alfred “Alf” Wight (1916–1995) and the books are partly autobiographical. The first TV series based on the books saw the light of day already in the late 1970s. It was done with breaks until 1990.
This second coming took place after a gap of three decades. The sixth season will not be the last of the series, as the next two seasons have already been ordered. As you know, they will continue in their roles Anna Madeley (Mrs. Hall), Samuel West (Siegfried Farnon), Nicholas Ralph (James Herriot), Callum Woodhouse (Tristan Farnon) and Rachel Shenton (Helen Herriot).
