Roma, 5 Mar. (askanews) – Fiorella Mannoia, as honorary president of the Una Quale Centomila Foundation, spoke during the presentation of the Framework Agreement between Sapienza University of Rome and the Una Quale Centomila Foundation. The singer has returned to focus on a theme that in Italy still requires a decisive cultural change of pace: consent and sexual-affective education. “Such a simple thing: when a woman says no, it’s no. Sex without consent is rape”, underlines the artist, recalling how necessary it is to make clear, in everyday life even before in the courtrooms, that respect is non-negotiable.

Mannoia then recalls the urgency of “starting earlier”, working on prevention and training: “Sexual-affective education concerns all of us, men and women. We are both victims of stereotypes”. A path that also passes through the ability to recognize the signals without minimizing them: “The signs are seen immediately. Don’t turn off that alarm light.”
Next to her was also the actor Gianmarco Saurino, representing the Foundation’s Artistic Laboratory, who underlined the value of cultural and personal commitment on these issues: “Male violence against women is a structural problem that affects us all. The first step is to educate yourself, question yourself and have the courage to intervene, even in small daily gestures and in language.”
The intervention is part of the morning dedicated to the signing of the agreement between the University and the Foundation, aimed at promoting training, research and awareness initiatives to prevent and combat gender discrimination and male violence against women. The family members of the student Ilaria Sula were also present at the meetingat the moment of the award ceremony of the thesis prize dedicated to her. The morning is over to the tune of “What women don’t say”.
