After the turning point on the Setterosa bench, the quarterfinals Orizzonte-Padova and Trieste-Cosenza will take place on Friday. Then Rapallo and Rome will enter the scene. The final is on Sunday
A Final Six with different eyes: those of Maurizio Mirarchi, Setterosa’s fresh new coach in place of Carlo Silipo. Useful signals are expected in view of the World Cup qualifiers scheduled for the first week of May in Rotterdam. From Friday to Sunday, in the Scandone swimming pool in Naples, the Unipol women’s Italian Cup will be played: on the first day the quarterfinals Orizzonte-Padova (6.30pm) and Trieste-Cosenza (9pm), the winners on Saturday respectively against Rapallo and Sis Roma who won the last two editions. In the championship, after 12 days, the Roman team leads with 32 points, +2 on Rapallo and Orizzonte which has the highest number of victories, five. Silipo, speaking to Rai, commented with serenity and elegance on Fin’s decision: “It can’t please me, but I understand that in the last two years the results have been lacking. It’s a shame about the final in the European Championship in Madeira, against Greece we didn’t get into the match. I believe that this group has the possibility of re-emerging immediately and that Mirarchi has the right skills. The regret of my management? Not having achieved a gold medal – concluded the Neapolitan coach – but I have to thank the girls for always working hard.”
