The jury selected the series in the category ‘The Connector’ From Ukraine to Opperdoes nominated. Journalist Daria Lysytsia fled the war in Ukraine with her family and eventually ended up in West Friesland. For NH she portrayed other refugees who ended up in our province.
Also the documentary Museum of Heaven has been nominated in the category ‘The Storyteller’. Former winners Gerie Smit and Mischa Korzec investigated why there has been no public memorial place in the village for years since the Volendam New Year’s fire in 2001.
Nominated for talent award
Reporter Loïs Iglesias has a chance to win the prize for the greatest emerging talent, ‘The Newcomer’. In recent years she has reported on various large and small ones stories in the regions of IJmond, Haarlem and Zaanstreek-Waterland. Many viewers may recognize her from the various live events she has presented.
