Domen Prevc dominates the winter in ski jumping in an impressive way. A DSV legend is thrilled.
Already on Friday (2:30 p.m. in sport.de-Live ticker) Prevc can bag the overall World Cup victory in ski jumping in Lahti, Finland. But that’s not all: the 26-year-old has several more records to look forward to by the end of the season.
DSV icon Martin Schmitt raved about Prevc being “simply extraordinary” at “Eurosport”. Brother Peter holds the record of 15 victories during a World Cup season, “Domen is already at 13 – and the winter is far from over,” recalled the 48-year-old and stated: “He is on the verge of breaking all records.”

But why does Prevc rush from victory to victory in ski jumping?
“Domen has a high level of precision in his jumping movement. Sometimes there are slight asymmetries in the transition phase,” explained Schmitt. Even if small imperfections occur after the jump, “he manages to correct himself quickly and still jump far. The bigger the jump, the better he can exploit this special quality,” analyzed the TV expert.
Schmitt stated: “He can put his full energy into it in every situation and make the jump offensive. His flight system can withstand it.” The four-time world champion also raved about Prevc’s flat skiing and his physical condition.
The “Domenator” has already won the Four Hills Tournament, the Ski Flying World Championships and Olympic gold in the mixed team and on the large hill this winter. The Large Crystal Ball can be added on Friday.
The specialist portal “skijumping.pl” recently quoted the Slovenian as saying that he “already has some ideas on how I can get even better next season and surpass myself.” The ski jumping competition is likely to take these words as a warning.
