The handball players Foxes Berlin won the top game in Group A in the Champions League and thus secured early group victory. The Bundesliga team won 35:31 (16:15) against Danish champions Aalborg Handbold on Wednesday evening. Both teams had previously qualified for the quarterfinals.

Foxes with a good start in Aalborg

The Bundesliga team, which won the last four duels against Aalborg, got into the game right away. With convincing defensive work, they forced the Danes to make mistakes and quickly took a 4-2 lead. The guests then failed several times due to Aalborg keeper Niklas Landin, but after a 0-3 run the game was level again.

Foxes dominant in the second half

The high-class game remained that way until the break. Neither team was able to gain more than a goal. Aalborg were always successful with powerful throws through the center of the backcourt, the Foxes let the ball run more and thus found solutions. Shortly before the break they regained their narrow lead.

And the Berliners continued this after the break. In the 39th minute they extended their lead to four goals (22:18), also thanks to strong saves from goalkeeper Dejan Milosavljev. But after a time out, Aalborg came back and equalized to 24:24. The Foxes remained unimpressed, responded with a 5-1 run and pulled away to 32:26 with six minutes to go – the decision.
