In the general ranking, Borussia Dortmund leads the way with over 81 thousand spectators per match, with the two Milanese teams in fifth and sixth place. Roma ninth with just over 62 appearances per match. Teams with larger facilities obviously have an advantage

March 4 – 7.38pm – ROME

Three Italian teams in the top ten in the world and a San Siro that is practically always sold out. If the path in the European cups is giving little satisfaction to the Serie A teams, there is a ranking that sees our championship at the level of the top European clubs despite not (yet) owning many stadiums. Indeed, Italy is in fact the only one to have so many teams in the top ten. We are talking about the ranking relating to the average attendance of fans at the stadium. Favorites, obviously, are those who play in larger facilities…

Milanese booms

According to the numbers collected by Transfermarkt (using official data), in fifth and sixth place respectively are Milan and Inter who, while waiting for the new San Siro, never fail to be present at the stadium. The Rossoneri, with an average of 72,884 spectators per match, lead the Italian standings, ahead of their Inter colleagues by a whisker who are following at 71,758. Practically equal numbers which attest to the following towards the two Milanese teams. A boom and rising figure in recent seasons. In ninth place is Roma with 62,186 fans per match.

the Germans command

But who commands the world rankings? At the top is Borussia Dortmund who can use the only facility (the majestic Westfalenstadion) capable of accommodating more than 80 thousand people. That’s exactly 81,102 per game, which means sold out at all hours. In second place is another German team: Bayern Munich with an average of 74,438. Then Manchester United and Real Madrid with 73,978 and 73,519 respectively. And therefore not very far from Milan and Inter. West Ham, Marseille and Atletico Madrid also appear in the top ten, while to find other Italians you have to go down to 31st place occupied by Napoli. Obviously Juventus would also find space, which with 40,952 spectators is in 41st place, but cannot have a facility like the ones just mentioned.
