The swaggering Robert Doornbos is attacked by the men of Today Inside because of a video from troubled Dubai. “What an actor!” exclaims table guest Valentijn Driessen.
There is a lot of hilarity about all those swaggering influencers and stars in Dubai who suddenly no longer feel so safe now that the emirate is under fire by Iran. They post quite poignant messages about it on Instagram and this is widely mocked. In fact, many people seem to enjoy their ‘suffering’ there.
Selfie camera
Robert Doornbos is one of those stars. “Okay, we’ve just had a very crazy 24 hours. We went outside for a while. You can’t hear the bombs for a while. Although I just heard something again. Yes, we hear something again! We’re going home again boys, come!”, he shouts in an Instagram video to his playing children, while he continues to look intently into the selfie camera.
He continues: “That’s it. Even if it is from a distance. Of course you have to be on the safe side. Blue sky, but every now and then you hear a crash. Never expected to experience this in Dubai.”
Nouveau riche
It makes Johan Derksen feel sick. “What nonsense, boy,” he says Today Inside. “All those nouveau riche figures in Dubai are now afraid for their own skin, aren’t they? They just wanted to spend their money there and live comfortably. Yes, things are not going well.”
Wilfred Genee: “You don’t have to post it, do you?”
Table guest Valentijn Driessen: “Actor, eh?”
Interesting
Johan thinks that Robert likes to receive people who are concerned in his inbox. “That man finds it interesting too, doesn’t he?”
René van der Gijp: “It’s Lucky TV. You can also let it run.”
Wilfred: “I thought so too, yes.”
René: “This isn’t about anything, is it? Come on man, act normal!”
Valentine: “It’s only about him, of course!
