The world champions had a little more trouble in the same group on Tuesday evening: Spain ultimately won 3-0 (1-0) against Iceland thanks to two goals from Claudia Pina (FC Barcelona).
The winners of the four groups in League A will receive a direct ticket to the 2027 World Cup in Brazil, the remaining European participants will be determined in playoffs. England and Spain will meet at Wembley on April 14th.
In German Group 4, the Norwegians won 1-0 (0-0) in Austria. Norway is the next opponent of the German soccer players on Saturday (6:00 p.m./ZDF) in Stavanger, who started their qualifying with a 5-0 (2-0) win against Slovenia on Tuesday.
