It is inevitable that Eva Jinek’s ego is hurt now that not she, but Jeroen Pauw, was allowed to make extra broadcasts last weekend because of the attacks on Iran, Johan Derksen thinks.

Jeroen Pauw was called up for extra duty last weekend because of the attacks on Iran. Additional episodes of Pauw & De Wit were broadcast on both Saturday and Sunday. And Eva Jinek? He could just stay at home. We only saw that last night with a broadcast full of conversations about the Middle East.

Pursuit of effect

It is right that Eva has been passed over, says Johan Derksen. “I understand it, because Eva Jinek specializes in creating effects,” he says in the podcast Greetings from Grolloo.

He sneers: “She likes to talk about sentimental topics and then she leans completely over to the interviewee and then gives crosses with great feeling to bring a tear, you know. That is the ultimate TV.”

Dedain

Jeroen is really much better, Johan emphasizes. “I understand very well that they went for Jeroen Pauw, because he is at the very top of the lists in the talk show guild. He looks down with disdain on people who also have a talk show.”

“And I have to say: De Wit is always ridiculed as some kind of dickhead, but I think that boy is doing an excellent job. Look, he doesn’t look sexy. Yes, he is no Johan Derksen of course when you see him on screen. But that man looks a bit like a civil registrar, but he is doing a very good job.”

Ego hurt

Both Jeroen and Tim de Wit are better choices than talk show diva Eva, according to Johan. “So I think it is a very good decision that they put those two forward and not Jinek.”

He concludes: “I think, knowing Jinek, that her ego is very damaged. She will be pissed off.”
