Out of prison a month and a half early: Sean “Diddy” Combs is taking part in a drug rehab program – and his sons are making a documentary.

Sean “Diddy” Combs is currently serving a four-year sentence at the Fort Dix Federal Correctional Institute in New Jersey. He was sentenced to this on October 3, 2025. At that time he was found guilty of two counts of transporting people for the purpose of prostitution; He was acquitted of much more serious charges, such as human trafficking. It is now clear that he will have to serve less time than expected.

One and a half months less in prison

Originally, the US rapper would have had to stay in prison until June 4, 2028. However, the release date has now been brought forward by one and a half months to April 25, 2028. The reason for this is his participation in a drug rehabilitation program, which the musician and producer has been taking part in since November 2025. The news portal “Page Six” reported on this. A spokesperson told the portal: “Mr. Combs is an active participant in the Residential Drug Abuse Program and has taken his rehabilitation process seriously from the beginning. He is fully committed to his work, focused on growth and committed to positive change.”

Early dismissal comes at the time of appeal

The adjustment of the detention date coincides with the appeal filed by Sean Combs’ camp against the sentence. In December 2025, his lawyers filed a motion requesting immediate release and either an overturning of the conviction or a reduced sentence for the musician. He argued that the responsible public prosecutor’s office had never proven the allegations against him. His lawyer also argued that the judge issued a sentence that was too harsh and violated the rapper’s constitutional rights. However, the public prosecutor objected to the appeal in February 2026.

Own “Diddy” documentary from the family

The image of the Combs family was most recently shaped by the Netflix documentary “Sean Combs: The Reckoning”. Here’s the trailer for classification:
