Eintracht Braunschweig has to do without regular goalkeeper and captain Ron-Thorben Hoffmann for weeks. The second division team announced this in an injury update on Tuesday morning. After injuring his hip during training, Hoffmann decided to treat the injury conservatively. An operation is therefore not necessary.
The Eintracht goalkeeper will now be missing for weeks. However, the club does not yet want to know anything about the end of the season that has been rumored in the media. Hoffmann will complete a targeted rehabilitation program in Munich in the coming weeks. He should then increase the load during the international break at the end of March and be gradually integrated into team training. If treatment is successful, a comeback in April is conceivable. The season in the 2nd Bundesliga ends for Eintracht Braunschweig with the away game at FC Schalke 04 on May 17th.
For Hoffmann, the injury he sustained in a collision during training last week was a shock, he said. Several meetings with doctors have now made him confident that the conservative method without surgery is the “right approach”. He also wants to support the team as best as possible during his rehabilitation in Munich. He will be there at the games.
