The football great made the revelation in a podcast.

Lionel Messi regrets his “fooling around” in his youth. PDO

The great football legend, Lionel Messi, who currently represents the MLS club Inter Miami, reveals that he regrets one thing in particular. According to Messi, he felt quite ignorant when he met different public figures when he was younger.

– One thing I regret is that I didn’t learn English when I was young. I would have had time to study, but I didn’t. I deeply regret it, Messi, 38, said on the Mexican Miro de Atras podcast.

– I experienced moments where I met incredible and absolutely crazy people, about whom I was completely ignorant, Messi refers to the language barrier difficulties he faced.

– I always thought what an idiot I was when I didn’t learn the language, Messi laments.

According to Messi, he has taught his own children how important it is to study properly and to be ready for different stages of life.

At the age of 13, Messi moved from the Argentinian Rosario team to the FC Barcelona organization, where he rose to the top of the football world.

Messi’s career at FC Barcelona was cut short when the Catalan club had to give him up amid severe financial difficulties. Messi switched to the ranks of the Parisian PSG, from where he traveled to North America in the summer of 2023, to the ranks of Inter Miami.

During his career, Messi has been chosen eight times as the footballer of the year, i.e. the Ballon d’Or winner.
