66-year-old Joannes B. was arrested after a girl’s father filed a report two years ago. His daughter was sitting on the substitute worker’s lap on November 20 last year, after which he allegedly groped her. It happened on the first day that the man worked as a substitute at the daycare center.
The daycare center immediately terminated its cooperation with the man when this became known, the Public Prosecution Service wrote in a press release. Two days after the report, the man was arrested in his home in Almere.
Victims
In addition to the attempted rape of a 2-year-old girl, the man is said to have indecently touched a 13-year-old boy when he was in the suspect’s care in January 2024.
In addition to these two cases, the indictment also mentions two children of whom the suspect allegedly took nude photos, a three-year-old boy and a baby, the Public Prosecution Service writes.
Child sex doll
According to Het Parool the man worked at a branch of Partou Childcare in East Amsterdam. During the search of his home, data carriers were seized and a child sex doll was found. Police have studied the footage and identified victims over the past three months.
The police say they have no indications that there are any more victims. According to the Public Prosecution Service, there are no indications that the man collaborated with others. There are also no indications that the man distributed child pornography.
A Partou spokesperson has not yet responded to questions from AT5. Joannes B.’s lawyer was also not yet available. A first hearing in this case will be held next Wednesday.
